Google is world’s leading provider of Internet-related products: search engine, e-mail, video streaming services and social networking. Still, after huge success of their mobile operating system Android and related online market Google Play, company took interest in hardware market. Not satisfied with moderate performance of their Motorola subsidiary, which they bought and then quickly sold to Lenovo, Google’s executives founded Nexus line of devices. They were meant to be best Android devices on market and many existing manufacturers were involved in its design and production. Beginning with Nexus One, Qualcomm Scorpion-powered HTC phone, line saw contributions from Samsung, LG, Huawei and Asus. Nexus 5X was last proper in smartphone in this line, with later offerings being technologically advanced tablets. In late 2016 Nexus line was put on hold in favor of new Pixel line. As of summer, 2017, Pixel line consisted of two laptops, one tablet and two variations of basically same smartphone – Pixel and Pixel XL. Laptops sold poorly and were quickly discontinued.
